The Piper Archer is an excellent private and instrument training platform. Its tapered low-wing design and stable, predictable handling characteristics make it a favorite among students. Its load-carrying capability (30 pounds more than a C-182) and its cruise speed (15 knots faster than a C-172) make the Piper Archer a great aircraft for weekend getaways and long cross countries.
