Seattle Scenic Flight - Local 60-Minute

 

The Northwest's only 5-star scenic flight experience

 

What does it cost?

 

$195 total (for a maximum of 3 persons)

 

Or, $65 per person based on 3 passengers

 

Night discount - $20 off (departing 11pm to 8am)

 

Maximum combined passenger weight not to exceed 600 lbs.

24-hour advanced notice of cancellation required, except for weather cancellations by Seattle Scenic Flight pilot

 

What do I get?

 

Standard:

A. Metro Loop

 

This flight circles the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area, providing views of the Seattle skyline, Puget Sound, Port of Tacoma, Lake Washington, Microsoft / Redmond and the University of Washington.

 

Route:

  • Depart Boeing Field to the west, passing over West Seattle and the Fauntleroy Ferry dock

  • Fly along Vashon Island with views of the east and west water channels

  • Pass over the Port of Tacoma shipyards and then follow I-5 north towards Auburn

  • Overfly Kent and the Boeing Space Center, then follow I-405 along Lake Washington

  • View the Renton Airport, home to Boeing's 737 and 757 product lines

  • Turn towards the Cascades, passing over a few foothills before reaching Lake Sammamish

  • Follow Lake Sammamish north to Microsoft's Campus in Redmond

  • After passing Microsoft, follow "the 520" west, overflying the home of Bill Gates

  • Cross over Husky Stadium and the University of Washington, then follow Lake Washington north

  • Upon reaching Kenmore and the north end of Lake Washington, head west for the Puget Sound

  • Travel down the Puget Sound's east shore, passing over the Shilshole Bay Marina and the Ballard Locks

  • Fly along the Seattle skyline, passing the Space Needle and Seattle waterfront along Elliot Bay

  • Pass over the Seattle Mariners' Safeco Field as you return to Boeing

B. Natural Wonders

 

A scenic flight celebrating the natural beauty of the Northwest, including Snoqualmie Falls, the Cascade Foothills, the Carnation Valley, south tip of Whidbey Island, Kitsap Peninsula and the northern Puget Sound.

 

This flight is similar to the Seattle Spectacular, except that there is more coverage of the north Puget Sound area.

 

Route:

  • Depart Boeing Field to the east, crossing over Mercer Island

  • Follow Interstate-90 past Lake Sammamish to Snoqualmie Falls

  • Circle Snoqualmie Falls and then head north along the Cascade foothills

  • Pass North of Duvall, flying over the Snohomish River Valley

  • Cross over Everett's Paine Field, home of the Boeing widebody factory

  • Fly out across the Puget Sound, just south of Whidbey Island

  • Travel down the Sound's west shore, passing over the town of Kingston and Bainbridge Island

  • Turn towards Seattle, flying in over Elliot Bay along the Seattle skyline and Space Needle

  • Pass over the Seattle Mariners' Safeco Field as you return to Boeing

C. Rainer View

 

On this flight, you will view the wonders of the Cascade Mountains, including Snoqualmie Falls, Cedar Falls and come within only 22 miles of the peak of Mount Rainer.

 

Route:

  • Depart Boeing Field to the east, crossing over Mercer Island

  • Follow Interstate-90 past Lake Sammamish to Snoqualmie Falls

  • Circle Snoqualmie Falls before turning south

  • Pass over Cedar Falls, along with the remote lakes and forests of the Cascade Foothills

  • Fly just southeast of Enumclaw, coming within only 22 miles of the peak of Mount Rainer

  • Turn north, passing "Thun Field", Lake Tapps and Auburn (viewing the Port of Tacoma to your left)

  • Overfly Kent and the Boeing Space Center, glimpsing a spectacular view of Sea-Tac airport on your left

  • Arrive at Boeing Field for landing

D. Seattle Spectacular

 

View many of Seattle's attractions on one flight! You will pass over Lake Washington, the University District, Microsoft / Redmond, Lake Sammamish, Snoqualmie Falls, the Cascade Foothills, the Carnation Valley, the Boeing factory in Everett, the Puget Sound and the Seattle waterfront.

 

This flight is similar to Natural Wonders, except that you pass the Seattle skyline from both the east and west sides and also overfly the Microsoft campus in Redmond.

 

Route:

  • Depart Boeing Field to the east, crossing over Mercer Island

  • Fly out over Lake Washington and Mercer Island

  • Pass by the home of Bill Gates, before following "the 520" east

  • Overfly the Microsoft Campus in Redmond before following Lake Sammamish to the southeast

  • Circle Snoqualmie Falls in the Cascade foothills before heading out over the Carnation Valley

  • Cross over Everett's Paine Field, home of the Boeing widebody factory

  • Travel down the Puget Sound's east shore, passing over the Shilshole Bay Marina and the Ballard Locks

  • Fly along the Seattle skyline, passing the Space Needle and Seattle waterfront along Elliot Bay

  • Pass over the Seattle Mariners' Safeco Field as you return to Boeing

E. South Sound Exploration

 

Look for hidden coves, sailboats and forested isles as you fly over Vashon Island, the Tacoma-Narrows Bridge, McNeil Island, Carr Inlet, Case Inlet, the upper reaches of the Hood Canal, and the mid Puget Sound.

 

Route:

  • Depart Boeing Field to the west, passing over West Seattle and the Fauntleroy Ferry dock

  • Fly along Vashon Island with views of the east and west water channels

  • Pass over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, just east of the Tacoma Airport

  • Turn west over the swirling channels of the Sound, passing McNeil Island

  • Explore the various coves and beaches of the Case and Carr inlets, and the upper reaches of the Hood Canal

  • Overfly the forested Kitsap Penisula, heading towards the northeast over Port Orchard to Vashon Island

  • Fly along the west shore of the Puget Sound, over Blake Island

  • After passing Bainbridge Island, cross the sparking waters of the Sound yet again

  • Travel down the Puget Sound's east shore, passing over the Shilshole Bay Marina and the Ballard Locks

  • Fly along the Seattle skyline, passing the Space Needle and Seattle waterfront along Elliot Bay

  • Pass over the Seattle Mariners' Safeco Field as you return to Boeing

F. Super Sound Loop

 

Takeoff on the ultimate Sound lover's flight, covering the east and west shores of the Puget Sound as far north as Whidbey Island and the Hood Canal Bridge... and as far south as Tacoma and the southern tip of Vashon Island.

 

Route:

  • Takeoff from Boeing Field and proceed northbound, past the Mariners' Safeco Field

  • Cruise along the Seattle waterfront, viewing skyscrapers and the signature Space Needle

  • Overfly the Ballard Locks and Shilshole Bay Marina

  • Fly north along the eastern shores of the Puget Sound

  • Turn west, passing over the south tip of Whidbey Island

  • Head southwest, passing the Hood Canal Bridge

  • Fly south along the Kitsap Peninsula and the western shores of the Puget Sound

  • Pass over Suquamish, Winslow and Bainbridge Island

  • Explore the waterways around Vashon Island, first with the island's western shore to Tacoma, then follow the east shore back towards the north

  • Cross over the Fauntleroy Ferry dock and West Seattle

  • Descend over the Duwamish River back into the Boeing Field area for a landing
